About Katie Graber

I discovered my joy of helping people as a little girl. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 from Fort Lewis College and, in working to find my passion, I worked as a school enrollment counselor and earned a Master of Management in 2009 from University of Phoenix. I still had a craving for a greater ability to help, which finally led me to complete my Master of Arts in Counseling, Couple and Family Therapy in 2013 from the University of Colorado, Denver. In my degree and through my internship I worked with individuals, couples and families; this was the start of my deeply fulfilling career as a therapist.

After completing my degree, I moved to Washington and was given the opportunity to work in a Medically Assisted Treatment Center (methadone clinic) in downtown Seattle. This experience changed my life and inspired me to continue growing in the counseling field. I moved back to Colorado to be with family and friends, worked for a couple years in a large group practice that allowed me to gain immeasurable experience. Through all these years, I earned certificates in Sex Therapy, Art Therapy, DBT, and Brainspotting.

My Approach

As with everyone, I have had my share of highs and lows throughout my life, which have caused me great struggle and moments of triumph. I have deep compassion for the human experience and will always encourage others to have self compassion. My way of navigating this life is rooted in my spirituality and relationships with family and friends. I will always believe in everyone’s ability to grow, heal and be whoever it is they desire to be at any point in their life. It’s an honor to be invited to join with clients as they seek their own path to healing.

Be present

I will continually remind and encourage you to be present in your life, in each moment of your life. In the chaos of the expectations the world puts on us and we put on ourselves, it can be hard to breathe, hard to focus, hard to heal. Through pausing and grounding, however that looks for you, you can find your highest self and be the best you can be. I will help you find your own way; your own path to your truest self.

Feel Life

I believe we feel life, before we attach a thought to it or act on it. Many people spend most of their time in their mind analyzing and seeking the logic of situations, where it often cannot be found. The answers to life are found in how we feel and what our bodies are telling us. Call it intuition or simply the magic of our nervous system. I will help you find the connection to your body and how it can lead you through your life.
